At times, we do not realize that what we watched teaches us important qualities of a leader.
Let me share my favorite movies that teach us how to be better leaders.
1. Chronicles of Narnia
Courage is about leading in spite of your fears and inadequacies.
When Peter was asked to lead the army of Narnia, he refused because he has never led an army before. Leadership often puts us in a position where you have to lead despite not having all the answers, and courage is what keeps you there.
2. 300
Leaders pay a price.
There is always a price for leadership. In the movie 300, the people who chose to fight for their country gave up their lives. What happens after is the result of leadership. They rallied the whole nation of Sparta and Greece against the Persian army. Not many people can pay the price. Leaders that rise up to the challenge see the reward of their vision coming to pass.
3. The Lion King
Without good leadership, chaos reigns.
When Simba left Pride Rock and allowed his evil uncle Scar to reign, Pride Rock fell into chaos and evil reigned in the land. While a bad leader brings chaos, a good leader is called to bring order and righteousness into the realm under his authority.
4. Remember the Titans
Managing differences
Coach Boone managed the cultural and ethnic discrimination between two camps, every good leader must recognize and manage different expectations, beliefs and values of a team. He helps bring peace and resolves the conflicts with wisdom as they come by.
