Early on we put our vision on the ground "We help you succeed in the ASEAN economy" in light of the unification of ten Asian countries into one economy at the end of 2015. We established our core values; timely and quality customer service come first, it's all about the result and not the effort, we only provide relevant programs.
One and a half months later, we rose above mediocrity. We defined what everyone should be doing. We set up ways of doing our work and collaborating. We created a lot of our own marketing materials since it was faster than getting the company graphic artist to do it. We created our own web site and other missing social media presence, again because it was faster. We started a customer survey to figure out what customers really want. The programs We inherited from the previous management needed to be validated.
We set up a digital process for assigning and tracking our activities. We also set up a digital way of tracking inquiries and sending out newsletters and program offerings.
A majority of these things were built from the ground up. I felt it was time to work smart, use best practice and raise the bar.
I sent out a message to this effect to my team. As expected, not everyone is playing at the same level. This is when you see the character of your team players. This is the time you need to pull up those in doubt. I specifically asked each one to reply if they are up for the challenge. Most were up to the challenge. Those that felt overwhelmed needed a helping hand and assurance that they too can make the cut.
Sept 1 is our landmark for stepping up to world class performance, service, quality of work, productive output. Let's see how it turns out. I will keep you posted.
